Description

Black and white view of the ruins of a building in Ypres, seen through an arch, with rubble in the foreground and a tower in the background. The front bears the inscription 'WAR 1914-1915' and 'YPRES bombed' in French and English. The back contains handwritten correspondence dated 28 February 1916, addressed to cousins, mentioning Belgium and the fatigue of soldiers.
