Description

Devastated interior view of the church of Montceaux (Marne) after a German bombing during World War I (1914-15). The sanctuary is in ruins, with debris, overturned furniture, and broken stained glass. On the reverse, a handwritten note dated October 27 addresses Madame M. Munguen in Paris, expressing a reflection on disasters and human indifference.
