Description

Illustration of a ball at Montmartre at the Château-Rouge, with figures in evening attire. The printed text relates the history of the location: former residence of Gabrielle d'Estrées, then property of an industrialist named Bobœuf, and finally a site of a reformist banquet in 1871. The back has a handwritten address for M. Fortuna in Juvisy-sur-Orge, a red 10-centime postage stamp, and two cancellations: 'PARIS 28-8-17' and 'SYSLORCHÉMIE 29-8-17'.
