Description

Illustration of a lively ball at Château-Rouge in Montmartre, with couples in period costume in a lush garden. The printed text relates the history of the site: partly brick and stone construction, occupied by Napoleon I's brother in 1814, acquired by an industrialist in 1845, and the arrest of General Lecomte in 1871. The reverse features typical postal correspondence and address fields, with a handwritten inscription '18c' and a watermark 'CPAdeCollection'.
