View of the commemorative stone monument with cross and archway, located in a trench. The reverse indicates it is dedicated to French soldiers who died in this trench, inaugurated on December 8, 1920 by Mr. A. Millerand and Mr. Wallace, the U.S. ambassador. Violet 40-centime postmark canceled in Verviers (Meuse).
