Description

Stone and bronze memorial dedicated to André Maginot, sergeant of the 44th D.L.T., deputy of the Meuse and Minister of War (1877–1932), located at Fort de Souville in Verdun. The reverse indicates that he was seriously wounded on November 9, 1914 during a reconnaissance mission, elected deputy in 1910, Undersecretary of State in 1919, and Minister of War until his death in 1932. The publisher is the Committee of the Douaumont Ossuary, with a postmark from Douaumont (Meuse).
