Description

Painted view of Mont-Orgueil Castle on Jersey at dusk, with waves crashing against the rocks. The reverse indicates that the castle, located on a rocky promontory separating the bay of Grouville from that of St Anne, was begun in the 10th century by the Dukes of Normandy and visited by Queen Victoria on September 3, 1846.
