Description

Ingres painting depicting Stratonice in a canopy bed, with the doctor Erasistrate on the right, hands joined and face hidden in his arms, and Antiochus dying on the left. The reverse details the scene: Erasistrate guesses the passion and crisis in which the young prince is struggling, while Seleucus kneels before the bed. Printed text at the bottom of the front and mention 'CPAPHIL' at the bottom of the reverse.
