Illustration of an officer on horseback presenting a medal to a soldier, with inscription 'Napoleon I granting the Legion of Honour Cross to a Russian army soldier designated as the bravest, 9 April 1807'. On the reverse, a green 10-centime stamp, postmark 'PARIS 14-3-1905', and handwritten address to 'Mme Germanne à Mme Victor par Guiclet Creuse'.
