View of the Citadel Gate in Nancy, dated 1598, topped with a statue of Duke Charles III, founder of the New Town. The reverse features a handwritten letter addressed to M. L. Saine in Saint-Étienne, with a green 12-centime stamp and two Nancy postmarks dated August 12, 1891.
