View of the Porte Saint-Pierre in Nantes, a fortified gate from the 18th century, with an arched passage and a pointed-topped tower. Printed text at the bottom: 'This was the narrow gate through which one entered Nantes until the end of the 18th century'. Reverse: handwritten correspondence dated Friday, August 14, addressed to 'My dear Sainte Marie', mentioning a holiday in Nantes and a visit from an 'Italian'. Publisher: Grond et Nozis. Stamp and cancellation not visible.
