Description

Two political caricatures from 1814 and the period, illustrating the fears of the Ultras regarding a possible return from the island of Elba. The first shows figures in period costume observing the horizon with a telescope, while the second depicts an officer threatening a dog with a sword, with the shadow of a soldier in the background. The reverse indicates the publisher H.C. ILS, with areas for correspondence and address, and an unstamped postage mark.
