View of the Roman cloister of the Abbey of Nieul-sur-l'Autize (Vendée), founded in 1068 by William of Aquitaine, with its three naves and its rounded arches decorated. Reverse: printed text describing the abbey, handwritten address to 'Monsieur Maurice Maillet', French postmark and cancellation 'NIEUL-SUR-L'AUTIZE (Vendée)' dated October 16, 1937.
