Sepia-toned view of the ruins of the Nideggen fortress in the Eifel, with a stone keep dominating a wooded hill. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 19.10.1964 from Kreuzau to the parents, mentioning the family's health and a request for shoes. The publisher is noted at the bottom of the reverse: 'Verlag Peter Peters, Papier- u. Bilderhandlung, Paderborn'.
