View of the Pont du Gard, a 269-meter-long Roman aqueduct 49 meters high, photographed in black and white. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated August 25, 1917, addressed to a recipient in Nîmes, describing the structure as a remarkable Roman monument and mentioning the battles of the war.
