External view of the famous Roman amphitheatre in Nîmes, south side, under a cloudy sky with bare tree branches in the foreground. The reverse features a handwritten letter dated 28/9/29, sent from Nîmes to Mrs. Clère in Marseille, with a 50-centime French postage stamp and cancellation.
