View of Noirmoutier Castle, east side, built on the ruins of a fortress of Hibold and having suffered many attacks. The reverse shows a handwritten letter dated 27/4/27, addressed to Robert Sauvouf in Saint-Sauvan, with a 40 centimes stamp and a postmark from Noirmoutier (Vendée).
