Postcard showing the rear of the Douaumont Ossuary monument, with its Catholic chapel and bell tower. Printed text at the top citing: « Simple and modest as the soul of the Soldier. Vast and noble as the grandeur of the Sacrifice. Durable, imperishable as the memory of the Heroes of Verdun. » Words of Marshal Pétain. Reverse: handwritten red letter dated 30 January 1910, addressed to a person in Barcelona, with a signature 'C. L. L. L. L.' and a note 'POSTCARD' at the top right.
