Description

Postcard showing the model of the Ossuary of Douaumont, a work by architects Léon Azéma and Jacques Hardy, built through national subscription after the war. The printed text explains that the monument, located in Verdun (Meuse), symbolizes the defense line that the defenders opposed to the enemy and was erected through subscription. The reverse indicates that the card is a phototype by A. Hénaud et Cie, with a 10-centime stamp and a handwritten cancellation 'Affranchir à 0f10'.
