Stone statue of Resignation, work by Madame Berthe Girardot, offered as a souvenir of her son, a pilot who died in action. The gesture of silence symbolizes the suffering of the French mother. Reverse: handwritten correspondence addressed to 'Mme Suzanne Hauer' at 'La Thie', with stamp and cancellation from Verdun.
