Description

Old postcard illustrated with black silhouettes of soldiers and bears, evoking a military or symbolic scene. The reverse features the inscription 'Union Postale Universelle' and 'POSTCARD' in French and Chinese characters, with a decorative border. A red 1 yen stamp is affixed at the top right, canceled by a circular postmark dated October 17, 1898, in Hanamaki (日立).
