Interior view of the Hall of Mirrors at the Palace of Versailles, with a bilingual inscription in French and English mentioning the proclamation of the German Empire in 1871 and the signing of the peace treaty in 1919. On the reverse, the publisher A. Laconie, 38, rue Ste-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie, Paris, is printed vertically, with a stamp on the left and a handwritten annotation 'D78'.
