Description

View of the Column of Vendôme in Paris, with inscription detailing its foundation in 1840 using bronze from 1200 cannons taken from the enemy by Napoleon, its height of 44 meters, and its reconstruction in 1874 after being dismantled during the Commune. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence addressed to Madame Gardini in Madrid, with a green 5-centime stamp and a cancellation 'PARIS 29' visible at the top right.
