Description

View of the Church of the Madeleine in Paris, with an inscription indicating that the first stone was laid by Louis XV on April 3, 1764. The reverse contains a handwritten correspondence dated August 26, 1915, addressed to a 'dear mother,' mentioning a leave of absence and a trip to Bordeaux. A French 10-centime postage stamp is affixed at the lower left, with a Parisian cancellation.
