Description

Interior view of Saint-Sulpice Church showing the gnomon, an astronomical instrument made between 1723 and 1748 by H. Sully and Lemonnier. A ray of sunlight penetrates at noon through a circular opening in the southern transept, tracing a line on the white marble slabs where the zodiac signs are depicted. The reverse is blank, without visible stamp or cancellation.
