Interior view of the dome of the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris (7th arrondissement), showing a main altar made of black marble from Isère, topped by a 2 m 86 bronze Christ, supported by four twisted marble columns in black and white, 7 m in diameter, with gilded bronze capitals. Printed text at the bottom of the front details the architectural work of Visconti and the sculptures by Marneuf, Hubert, and Vallet.
