View of the classical façade of the Madeleine in Paris, with its Ionic columns and sculpted pediment, surrounded by horse-drawn carriages and pedestrians. On the reverse, a handwritten letter addressed to 'My dear Andrée' in Marseille, dated November 29, 1915, with a red stamp and a Parisian postmark.
