Description

Aerial view of Place de la République in Paris in 1929, centered on the Republic monument with a statue atop an ornate pedestal. The square is lively with pedestrians, horse-drawn vehicles, and trams. On the reverse, handwritten correspondence addressed to Monsieur Henri, engineer at the forges, in Vézelay (Loire-Inférieure), with slanted handwriting and a damp stain at the top right.
