Colorized postcard depicting the Dome of the Invalides in Paris, with an inscription detailing its architect (Hardouin-Mansart) and its history (built at the beginning of the 18th century to crown the chapel of Louis XIV's hotel, covering the tomb of Napoleon I). The reverse bears a handwritten address to Monsieur Emile Cardat, a non-commissioned officer in the 30th Infantry Regiment in Grenoble, with a 14-centime postage stamp and a postmark from Toulouse dated July 20, 1914.
