Description

View of the Panthéon in Paris, built by Soufflot, completed in 1764, dedicated to Sainte-Geneviève, then converted for worship in 1806 and finally abandoned in 1885. Inside, frescoes depicting the history of Sainte-Geneviève by J.-P. Laurens and Puvis de Chavannes. In the background, the colossal group of the Monument de la Convention by Sicard, with the tombs of great men such as Marat, Rousseau, Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Sadi-Carnot and Gambetta. Reverse: postcard signed 'Cordial souvenir of Paris' addressed to Mme Fouquetetou, 18 rue Gambetta, Poitiers (Vienne), with the sender's signature.
