Description

View of the Pantheon in Paris, built by Soufflot, completed in 1764, dedicated to Sainte-Geneviève, then converted to a place of worship in 1806 and finally abandoned in 1885. The interior features frescoes depicting the history of Sainte-Geneviève by J.-P. Laurens and Puvis de Chavannes, as well as tombs of notable figures such as Hugo, Sadi-Carnot, Gambetta, Marat, Rousseau, and Voltaire. Back: postcard published by L. Baisson, Paris, with partially visible stamp and cancellation.
