Description

Interior view of Napoleon I's tomb at Les Invalides, with its marble sarcophagus and decorative columns. The printed text on the front indicates the construction date (1813–1833) and the transfer of the ashes in 1870. The reverse features handwritten correspondence addressed to Mr. Brunel in Marseille, with a 18-centime French postage stamp and a Paris cancellation of August 18, 1918.
