View of Paris City Hall, an imposing Haussmann-style building with a crowd of pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages in front. On the reverse, a handwritten letter dated January 4, 1917, addressed to 'Mr. and Mrs.' in Paris, with the sender's address in Asnières. The stamp and postmark are visible at the bottom right.
