Description

View of the City Hall of Paris, with an inscription indicating the laying of the first stone in 1593, its destruction in 1871, and its reconstruction from 1876 to 1884 by Ballu and Deperthes in the Renaissance style. The reverse has a handwritten address to Madame Bataille in La Louvière, Belgium, a 5-centime green postage stamp, and a Parisian cancellation dated August 30, 1897.
