Description

Red granite obelisk from the ruins of Thebes, Upper Egypt, erected in 1836, presented by Mehmet Ali. In the background, the Eiffel Tower is visible. The reverse has a handwritten address to Mr. J.-B. Charles in Toulouse, with a mention of the publisher E.P.D. and a green obliterated stamp 'PARIS 23-3-1908'.
