Portrait of a smiling old man wearing a hat, sitting on a wooden chair in a rocky garden. The printed text at the bottom of the card indicates '498 — Peasant of the Aveyron'. On the back, a 10-centime French Republic stamp is affixed, with a cancellation of 'AVEYRON' dated 13-4-07. The correspondence is addressed to Mr. the Recteur at the General Directorate of Finances in Paris.
