Black and white view of the Parrière Castle in Périgueux, in ruins and overgrown with vegetation, with a stone wall and wooden fence in the foreground. On the reverse, there is a handwritten letter addressed to Mme Lagueneau in Saintes, with a handwritten date '24/X' and a French postmark from 1822 canceled in DORDO.
