View of the ruins of the Barrière Castle in Libourne, dating from the 11th and 12th centuries, with remnants of walls and towers overgrown with vegetation, and railway tracks visible at the bottom right. Back: handwritten correspondence addressed to Mr. Étienne Roussat in Saint-Pourçain-sur-Besbre, with two 5-centime stamps and a cancellation mark from Périgueux dated the 24th.
