Description

Postcard showing the Chassiron Lighthouse on the island of Oleron, started in 1833 and completed in 1836, with a height of 44 meters and acetylene gas lighting. On the reverse, handwritten address for Madame L.D. Maurud to Port Louis, with a 5 centime postmark and a postmark from Château d'Oleron.
