Description

Postcard showing the Whale Lighthouse, a 50m-high lighthouse illuminating the shipping route at sea for 75km, classified as the second tallest in France after the one in Eckmühl in Brittany. The back features a handwritten letter dated February 14, 1947, sent from Poitiers to René Bagarde in Condé-en-Ferrière, with two French postage stamps from 1947 and a Poitiers postmark.
