View of the feudal castle of Pierrefonds, acquired in 1300 by Louis d'Orléans and rebuilt under Louis XIII, dismantled under Napoleon III and restored in 1858 by the architect Viollet-le-Duc. In the foreground, commercial buildings with the inscriptions 'GRAINS FOINRAZES', 'CHEVAUX ET VOITURES', 'CHARBONS TERRE BOIS' and 'LEFEBURE'.
