Description

Monumental statue of the Plateau du Mort-Homme, with a soldier raising his arms and holding a sword, surrounded by two cannons. The base bears the inscription 'ILS N'ONT PAS PASSÉ'. On the reverse, text indicating the inauguration on September 24, 1922, the sculptor J. Froment Meurice, and a stamp from the Douaumont Ossuary (Meuse).
