Description

Black and white view of the famous Roman bridge of the Gard, with its imposing arches reflected in the water of a stream. On the reverse, handwritten text indicates the recipient's address in Lille (Nord) and the mention 'PONT du GARD' at the bottom left. A 50-centime French postage stamp is affixed, with a circular cancellation from Nîmes dated April 1st, 1944.
