Description

Religious scene in sculpture depicting the Gate of the Tomb, with several mourning figures carrying a body. Printed text at the bottom: 'The Gate of the Tomb — Saint-Sulpice'. Reverse: handwritten letter dated April 24, 1921, sent from Fontchâteau to 'Dear Parents', signed 'Ton Rolland', mentioning a small seminary and races at the cure in Grandménil. Postmark and post office stamp from Fontchâteau.
