Portrait of a young boy in military costume with decoration, printed text at the bottom describing his birth, his studies at Woolwich, his departure on an expedition against the Zulu Caffres in 1879, and his death in an ambush on June 23, 1879. Reverse: multilingual postcard with space for correspondence and address, printed 'NEUZIEN FRÈRES, IMP. CÉRÉ, SUCCESSION PARIS-CORBEIL'.
