Description

Postcard showing the Caesar's Tower in Provins, a 12th-century keep where the English established a platform to defend during the siege of 1322. Inside, one can see iron cages used as detention places for political prisoners, as well as a very large bell weighing 3000 kilograms, nicknamed 'Guillemette'. Reverse: handwritten correspondence dated June 8, 1916, sent from Vinaigre d'Orléans to Paris, with a 0.10 franc postage stamp and cancellation mark.
