Description

View of Saint John Gate in Provins, a medieval stone portal dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, with an inscription indicating that the upper part of the Keep and its spire were demolished in 1723. The reverse side features a handwritten address to the Hospital of Carcassonne, a mention of the Firmin Louis & Cliché R.S. collection, and a postmark from Carcassonne dated July 4, 1913.
