Description

Postcard showing Caesar's Tower in Provins, a medieval tower from the 12th century with two bells, the largest, 'Guillemette', weighing 3,000 kg. The text indicates that it served as a detention site for political prisoners in 1452 and that the English reinforced the walls to place artillery there. On the reverse, the postcard bears the inscription 'Collection Firmin Louis, Provins'.
