Description

Monumental staircase in Rennes, located at the entrance to the promenade de La Motte, rebuilt in 1902 on the site of the former convent of Catherine. Printed text mentions its origin in 1661 and its transformation into a general hospital in 1772. Reverse: handwritten text dated Tuesday, sent from the sea to L'ancieux, addressed to Mme Wattelbled Robert in Paris, with a 25-centime French postage stamp.
