View of the Palais de Justice in Rennes, former Parliament of Brittany, with printed text describing its history: inauguration in 1533, construction in 1665 by Jacques Debrosse, and its name of Temple de la Loi in 1796. Reverse: handwritten message in French, addressed to Madame Letournier in Chateauroux, with a blue 40-centime stamp and a visible 'Rennes' obliteration postmark.
